Use commas for:

I bought milk, bread, eggs, cheese, and butter.

Apostrophes - Possession & Contractions

Quotation Marks & Punctuation

IMPORTANT: Periods and commas ALWAYS go INSIDE quotation marks!

Colons and Semicolons

Colon (:): Introduces a list or explanation

Semicolon (;): Joins two closely related independent clauses

I wanted to go to the party; however, I had too much homework.
The sun was hot; the beach was crowded.

Dashes and Hyphens

Hyphen (-): Joins words together (compound words) or prefixes
